There is so much history behind Finnish sneaker brand Karhu but for now here are some quick fire facts:
- 1919 - Karhu (Finnish word for bear) is established in a small workshop in downtown Helsinki.
- 1920 - The brand is recognized for its running shoes thanks to exposure in the Olympic games.
- 1950 - 15 Olympic gold medals are won by the Karhu team and it sells its famous 3 stripe logo to another sports company who are still using it today
- 1970 to Today - Karhu continues to innovate and develops many technologies used by companies all over the world like "Air" "Fulcrum" and "Ortix".
The Synchron was introduced to their lifestyle collection in the 90s and features Air technology and the signature lacing structure that crosses over the toe. Made using a mix of suede and water repellent nylon. This particular colourway is part of the "Catch of the day" Pack inspired by fishing equipment produced by Karhu in the 1970s.
