One of the most popular designs to date, crafted of USA-made wool in the Pendleton Oregon mill. In 1923, President Warren Harding and his wife Florence came West to dedicate a portion of the old Oregon Trail. At the ceremony, local chiefs presented the first lady with a Pendleton shawl inspired by the famous Chief Joseph blanket. This dynamic design was an instant hit and remains in production today.
Pendleton blankets are robe size, which is the size preferred by Native Americans for ceremonial purposes and wrapping around themselves as a robe. These blankets fit perfectly over a double bed, can be used for wall hangings or just for cuddling up on the sofa.
• Robe is napped (fluffy) and felt bound
• Robe size is 64" x 80" which is about a double bed size
• Pure virgin wool/cotton
• Fabric woven in the Pendleton American mills
