Sugarcane is part of the Japanese powerhouse that is Toyo Enterprise. A company that is dedicated to the faithful reproduction of vintage garments more than any other we know of!
Their shirting has rightfully garnered a cult following for its classic cuts, craftsmanship and exceptional textiles. This beautiful shirt is cut from a cotton wabash stripe and sewn with twin needle construction throughout. It features a classic work shirt silhouette with a front button closure, double chest pockets, a chin strap and jean-tack buttons.
"Wabash stripes" are a dot-stripe pattern that is discharge-printed on fabric dyed in a single indigo colour. It was used for prewar railroad uniforms as well as for children's playsuits. At that time, in addition to indigo Wabash stripes, black and red Wabash stripes were also produced, although rarely.
