Founded in 1946, Sebago has established itself as a loafer heritage brand. Known for their fine craftsmanship, their original penny loafer is still hand-sewn the same way today as it was back then. Sebago shoes have always been and will only ever be crafted by the hands of expert shoemakers, meticulously selected based on stringent standards in order to ensure the highest quality results.
The term "Makwa" translates to "bear" in the Ojibwe language. These shoes are handcrafted as part of the rugged Campsides collection. They have a distinctive 4-eyelet collar and moc-toe upper modelled after traditional Native American shoemaking techniques. Includes an added leather mudguard for outdoor protection and sits on a thick, comfortable Vibram outsole.
