Universal Works has fused two of our favourite shirts - the Chambray Shirt and the Western Shirt - to create this instant classic. This bad boy is comprised of utilitarian indigo chambray, featuring fine floral embroideries on the collar, sleeves, and where yokes would have gone - plus a flap pocket on the front.

Crafting the ideal trousers is an art form, and we are convinced that Universal Works is exceptionally skilled in creating various styles.

The Fatigue Pant, for instance, is composed of long-lasting Twill material that will develop a beautiful patina over time. Think of it as a more sophisticated and refined version of military trousers - perfect for everyday wear and adaptable to any season or occasion.

Daybrook Oxford Shirt

Scotland deserves our gratitude for providing the fabric utilised in this shirt. During the 19th century, four distinct shirts were created using various weaving and warp methods and were named after prominent universities - Oxford, Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge.

Universal Works' Daybrook shirt is a contemporary spin on a classic button-down shirt. It features a slightly roomier body and a collar that's a tad longer.

Loose Sweater OC/Hemp Waffle

At I&P, we have a deep appreciation for fabric and texture, and Universal Works' sweatshirt definitely satisfies our requirements.

Patched Bakers Jacket

The Bakers Jacket by Universal Works is a distinctive piece that falls somewhere between a blazer and a chore coat. It was inspired by a jacket worn by the father of UW co-founder, David Keyte, who happened to be a baker, hence the name!

This season, the jacket draws inspiration from the art of patchwork repair and features chambray patches scattered throughout the garment.

The UW Track Pant, which should not be mistaken for sweatpants, is a tapered trouser that is loose-fitting with an elasticated waistband. It is comfortable yet versatile enough to be dressed up for a more sophisticated look. Using upcycled deadstock fabric that has been over-dyed, these pants can be paired with a matching jacket to create a stylish two-piece outfit.

Easy Overshirt

At I & P, we have a particular fondness for workwear-inspired overshirts and jackets.

Universal Works' Easy Overshirt is their take on this classic piece. Lightweight and unstructured, it looks fantastic worn over a t-shirt or layered over another shirt for a more intriguing look.

Featuring a simple, relaxed cut and two front patch pockets, this overshirt is versatile and pairs well with any outfit.

This version is made from marled cotton with a slight stretch and brushed hand feel, and the fabric has been upcycled by overdyeing deadstock fabric. There are also matching pants in the same fabric, allowing you to create a two-piece ensemble.

Bakers Jacket

According to Universal Works' founder David Keyte, the classic work jacket remains the original and the best. It was designed as a combination of French, English and American work jackets, inspired by the jacket that David's father - a baker - used to wear when he was a child.

As the name suggests, "ripstop" fabric is reinforced to increase its strength against tears, abrasions and rips. The fabric has a soft and dry hand feel, and it features small ripstop squares as its signature design.
