Part of the 3Sixteen 20-Year Anniversary collection, this extremely limited edition shirt showcases the artisan capabilities of the brands partner factory in India.
Inspired by a quilt their factory made of discarded fabrics from past seasons, they produced cotton shirting fabric that was dyed in indigo and earth tones. These fabrics were then cut into irregular shapes, hand stitched, and finally machine stitched together into quilts. The pattern pieces were then cut from the resulting quilts and sewn into shirts. No two quilts were the same, hence no two shirts are the same.
Kanthais a centuries-old tradition of stitching patchwork cloth from rags, one of the oldest forms of embroidery originating from India, its origins can be traced back to the pre-Vedic age (prior to 1500 BCE). "Kantha" refers to both the style of running stitch, as well as the finished cloth.
The Vacation Shirt design takes inspiration from classic open-collar shirts of the 50's coupled with an updated, modern fit. We recommend taking your regular size for a more tailored style or size up one for a more relaxed fit!
