The Story
What happens when two iconic heritage brands collaborate? When San Fran meets South Shields? Possibly the greatest collaboration ever!?
The grandfather of blue jeans, most of the globe recognises the little red tab stitched on the side of the back pocket. Founded in 1853, Levi's is an American Heritage brand with indigo and denim being part of their DNA.
The Barbour story began in 1894 in South Shields, where John Barbour opened his store "J. Barbour & Sons". Today, the 5th generation family owned business remains in the North East, with Barbour's headquarters located in Simonside, South Shields. The brand is globally recognised by their signature wax jackets.
The Product
Taking design cues from the silhouettes of 1990s denim, Levi's relaxed fit silhouette, the 578, has been altered by the Barbour design team. They have added front pleat details with rivets at the top to secure them, and they have also produced the pants in a luxurious green corduroy, which instantly makes them more Barbour-ish.
