Charles Danner came to the Pacific Northwest to build the best boots loggers had ever known, an effort that resulted in a long-standing heritage brand.
Founded in 2014 by Naohiro Fujisaki, meanswhile embodies the idea of clothing being designed for utility. They envision clothing as a tool for everyday life.
With the Mountain Light heralded as the ideal hiking boot since the 1960s, meanswhile has added their own design twist on it in the form of an adjustable harness lacing system in place of the usual laces and metal eyelets. Released in 2022 and only available in Japan, the boot has been crafted using a sturdy suede upper that will develop a patina over time with wear. In line with the usual model, this shoe is equipped with a Vibram sole that lends added traction on rough surfaces. Finishing touches come in the form of meanswhile and Danner embossing on the heel.
