A-Cold-Wall* - Grid Tee

A-Cold-Wall* is a British luxury streetwear brand founded in 2015 by designer Samuel Ross, focusing on British working-class culture, brutalist architecture, and industrial design. In 2014, Ross became Virgil Abloh's assistant, working on several projects. He took lessons from his work with Virgil and used them to create his own thriving business.

A-Cold-Wall* quickly gained notoriety for its avant-garde designs, blurring the lines between fashion and art. In a single collection, we can see working-class uniforms alongside sportswear, alongside a mastery of tailoring with jackets resembling plaster or polyane sheets from construction sites.

This t-shirt is from the Fail 2019 Collection, and you can definitely see the brutalist/ industrial design elements coming through. Crafted using a dry handle jersey adorned with an all-over print featuring squares with dots in the centre. This piece features the signature A-C-W* logo print on the front chest and another of the same on the back. You'll also find a large woven patch on the front, to the wearer's left side. The patch is a duplicate of the neck label and tells some of the brand's story.
