Found in 1976, BEAMS is considered one of Japan's biggest fashion success stories. Starting out in a 21.5m2 storefront and built that into an empire of over 150 stores in 5 countries, all while remaining an independent family-owned business. The BEAMS mainline sits amongst their 20+ in-house brands providing casual, simple yet exciting clothing for men.
This piece certainly exemplifies those values. It is crafted from a lightweight cotton flannel (milled in Japan) that is cut and sewn into the silhouette of a cardigan. The dark indigo buttons are placed perfectly in the white parts of the flannel, showing off their commitment to top-tier manufacturing. It has a very boxy shape with elasticated cuffs at the hem and a straight cut hem.
