Originally founded in 1984 by Toshikiyo Hirata, Kapital was born out of a love for American denim and vintage clothing. Based in Japan's denim capital Kojima, Toshikyo and his son Kiro produce some of the worlds most iconic denim. Kapital creates unique garments using traditional dying techniques and construction methods in combination with playful ideas and motifs. In an often copy and paste industry, Kapital is always fresh and original, there is nothing else quite like it.
These slim tapered jeans are made from an ecru/black wabash denim. They feature a mid-rise, zip fly, copper rivets and a leather-branded back patch.
"Wabash stripes" are a dot-stripe pattern that is traditionally discharge-printed on fabric dyed in a single indigo colour. It was used for prewar railroad uniforms as well as for children's playsuits. At that time, in addition to indigo Wabash stripes, black and red Wabash stripes were also produced, although rarely.
