TSPTR continues to reign as kings of the graphic tee with a new collection centred around the 1960s / 70s heyday of the Peanuts comic strip. Schulz’s teenage children found themselves indulging in the latest West Coast trends of the era, from skateboarding and motocross to surfing and live music. This collection celebrates those So Cal people and places.
Many of the great Californian board shapers were working in and around north county San Diego during the early 1970s. Every other garage, shack or any type of shelter was turned into a shaping room or glass shop.
Sunflower Surfboards out of Encinitas specialised in designs by airbrush artist John Breedon. With a small store on the Coast Highway not far from Swami’s they created an impact on the scene with their far-out board shapes and artwork.
