In 1994, Swiss couple Edwin and Salomée Faeh were granted a license to create lines of clothing for the European market under the name Carhartt Work in Progress (WIP). Carhartt WIP is much more of a streetwear label than its American counterpart.
Introduced by the US Navy in 1943, the N-1 deck jacket sits alongside other military styles like the MA-1 and M-65 in the menswear history books of styles that continue to be desirable and covetable. Produced by Carhartt's European sibling, Work in Progress, this piece stays true to its inspiration with the Bedford cord outer and sherpa-lined interior. It has a button storm flap covering the front zip closure and features front pockets.
