Oakley was founded in 1975 by Jim Jannard, who started by selling innovative motorcycle grips made from a material he called "Unobtainium". The brand's name comes from Jannard's dog, Oakley Anne. The company expanded into motocross gear and then, in 1984, released its first sport-oriented eyewear, the "Factory Pilot Eyeshade".
Pulling design references from military garb and their "Standard Issue" range, the War Chest Shorts are a popular style from the 2000s. They are lightweight, pigment-dyed, and loaded with great pocket options.
