An Icon of American fashion founded in 1967, Ralph Lauren is a household name at this point. The brand combines collegiate classics, western-wear, modern downtown styles and all-American sporting looks.
Before becoming a fashion staple, the fireman's hook was utilised to fasten heavy-duty turnout coats, allowing firefighters to easily snap and release closures while wearing thick protective gloves.
In the late 1980s, Ralph Lauren heavily leaned into maritime, nautical, and Americana-inspired designs. Alongside pieces like anniversary flag sweaters and the CP-93 collection, he released several variations of the fireman's clasp jacket. The brand produced these coats in bold colour-blocked patterns, durable canvas, denim, and even corduroy, giving the rugged firefighter style a preppy, effortless cool factor.
A more modern version of the iconic design, this piece is made from rubberised cotton. It features a fireman's latch closure and flap-closure hand pockets for convenience. The stand collar provides added coverage against the elements, along with the throat latch for extra protection.
