Samurai Jeans - Kasuri Striped Work Shirt

Founded in 1998 by Tohru Nogami in Osaka, Japan, Samurai jeans are instantly recognisable by the flash of silver thread woven into the selvedge—a callback to the steely glint of samurai swords of yore. Samurai produces very unique fabrics, some heavily slubbed and dyed with natural indigo. As you’d expect from a Japanese denim brand, the quality of construction, fabric, and finishing are second to none.

This shirt is a release from 2022 and features an original kasuri fabric using yarn dyed indigo. The warp yarns are skipped in some places by a dobby loom to weave fine patterns. This is a very unique and textured fabric! The design incorporates vintage workwear elements, with triple-stitch seams and nut buttons.
