Karhu, meaning "bear" in Finnish, has been a leader in the running shoe industry since 1916, pioneering much of the technology found in modern shoes. In the 1950s, they sold their three-stripes trademark to a well-known athletic shoe company for two bottles of whiskey and approximately 1,600 Euros. Today, Karhu continues to dominate the running shoe market and has expanded into the lifestyle category, regularly releasing new sneakers which we are excited to offer.
Orginally design in the 1970s, the Mestari (meaning champion in Finnish) is a core part of the brand's lifestyle sneaker range. This pair features the signature blue, red and white colourway that is still in production to this day!
