The Strike Gold - 15oz Slub Selvedge Jeans

Named after a hero from popular Japanese Folklore, Momotaro is a premium denim brand from Kojima, the heart of Japanese denim manufacturing. What makes this brand stand out is their use of cotton from Zimbabwe harvested by hand, and signature "pink-line" selvedge denim. 

The Strike Gold 5104 jean is a straight tapered fit. This jean has a medium rise and some room in the top block while tapering from the lower knee for a small leg opening. The denim is very interesting because they used a super short slub cotton for the weft threads. The process used to produce the fabric gives the denim an extremely uneven texture, on the inside it kind of looks like a vintage hand-woven rug.
